Symposium – Jim

What a great day! That’s was such good snow. Great job maintaining balance and flow from turn to turn. Recall a few things we were focused on:

  • Inside half leading
  • Inside half higher than outside half especially after fall line
  • Downhill pole swing directed down the hill

The benefits of these tips will improve your flow from turn to turn, keep you balanced over your outside ski and allow you to release and move into the new turn with much more precision. Notice that you tend to “stem or step” out your ski when your upper body has dropped inside or is tipped into the hill. Also, if you aren’t getting some “pop” from you skis this inhibits you from switching edges, again due to where your upper body is facing.
